Outcome of repeat trabeculectomies
Clinical & Experimental Ophthalmology, 2011To determine the success of repeat trabeculectomy augmented with mitomycin C in a cohort of patients who had undergone previously failed trabeculectomy surgery.A consecutive cohort series of patients.Fifty patients undergoing augmented trabeculectomy surgery following a previously failed trabeculectomy and at least 12 months' follow up.All patients had

Trabeculectomy at the inferior limbus
Acta Ophthalmologica, 1992Abstract. Fourteen eyes (12 with open‐angle glaucoma and 2 with secondary glaucoma) of 14 patients were operated by trabeculectomy at the inferior limbus. The surgical technique is described and results of 6–12 months follow‐up are reported. Complication rate was reasonably low.

Determinants of Corneal Endothelial Cell Loss After Trabeculectomy With Mitomycin C
Journal of glaucoma, 2019Purpose: To investigate factors associated with decreased corneal endothelial cell density (ECD) after trabeculectomy with mitomycin C (MMC). Methods: Retrospective review of consecutive glaucoma cases who underwent trabeculectomy with MMC.

Trabeculectomy in Aphakic Eyes
Ophthalmology, 1984One hundred twenty-seven trabeculectomies performed on aphakic eyes at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute (BPEI) between 1972 and 1982 were reviewed. Forty-five cases were excluded from data analysis: 28 in eyes with confounding conditions, such as neovascular glaucoma; ten with follow-up of less than six months; and seven that were the second or third ...

Innovations and adaptations in trabeculectomy
Current Opinion in Ophthalmology, 2016This article examines the current literature reporting updates on trabeculectomy techniques, complications, and cost-effectiveness.Trabeculectomy continues to be the standard for glaucoma surgery when a low intraocular pressure is required. Recent publications describe technique modifications that successfully increase efficacy and lower complications.

Penetrating Keratoplasty With Trabeculectomy
American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1985Seven patients who had a mean preoperative intraocular pressure of 40 mm Hg (range, 34 to 52 mm Hg) underwent combined keratoplasty and trabeculectomy. This resulted in an average postoperative intraocular pressure of 23.7 mm Hg. Five of seven eyes had well controlled intraocular pressures throughout the postoperative period (mean follow-up, 16.1 ...

Outcome of consecutive trabeculectomy
Clinical & Experimental Ophthalmology, 2004Abstract Purpose: To establish a criterion for success of primary phakic trabeculectomy in the second eye of the same patient, using the first operated eye as a predictor for the surgical outcome. Methods: The outcome of primary phakic trabeculectomy was retrospectively compared in both eyes of 23 patients.
