Mixed Trace Gas Sensing for Environmental Applications
Mixed gas sensing based on superluminescent diode (SLED) with Fabry-Perot etalon and vibrational coherent anti-Stokes Ramen spectroscopy (CARS) technique with single Nd^: YAG laser for mixed gases like C_2H_2 CO_2 and CH_4 /CO_2 are compared for combustion applications.

Photon Avalanching Nanoparticles: The Next Generation of Upconverting Nanomaterials?
This Perspective outlines the mechanistic foundations that enable photon‐avalanche (PA) behavior in lanthanide nanomaterials and contrasts them with emerging application spaces and forward‐looking design strategies. By bridging threshold engineering, energy‐transfer dynamics, and materials engineering, we provide a coherent roadmap for advancing the ...

Photoacoustic trace gas sensing : application to fruit and insects [PDF]
A novel photoacoustic spectrometer has been applied to study trace gas emissions by fruit and insects. The spectrometer is based on a newly designed CO laser that can operate on 400 laser lines between 5.1-8.0 and 2.8-4.1 micrometer (delta v=1 and 2 mode, respectively).

Receptor‐Free Identification of Toxic Gases Enabled by Hygroscopic Aqueous Salt Films
Water as a gas sensor coating sounds impossible—until it stops evaporating. Here, hygroscopic salt solutions (LiCl, LiBr, H3PO4) form non‐drying aqueous films on CNT chemiresistors under ambient air. Gases partition into these liquid layers, sometimes transforming into water, and generate salt‐specific resistance fingerprints across a four‐channel ...

Lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) remain central to energy storage but suffer from slow ion transport and degradation. Here, we present a binder‐free Ti3C2Tx MXene/GnR hybrid electrode with a porous 3D architecture formed via freeze casting. The structure enhances conductivity, ion transport, and stability, delivering 401 mAh/g, ∼97% efficiency, and 92 ...
