Bimetallic (NiFe) and trimetallic (NiFeCr) nanoalloys (NAs) are synthesized using corresponding oxide mixtures using microwave hydrogen plasma within a few milliseconds. The process simultaneously 1) reduces metal oxides to metals; 2) downsizes the particles from micrometers to nanometers; and 3) blends the metals to form NAs.

Sensitive Room Temperature Photoluminescence-Based Sensing of H2S with Novel CuO–ZnO Nanorods [PDF]
Novel CuO nanoparticle-capped ZnO nanorods have been produced using a pulsed laser deposition (PLD) method. These nanorods are shown to grow by a CuO-nanoparticle-assisted vapour-solid-solid (V-S-S) mechanism.

Four‐point bending tests are conducted in an argon atmosphere on commercial MgO‐C brick grades with and without MgO‐C recyclate from room temperature up to 1300 °C. No detrimental effect of the MgO‐C recyclates on bending strength is found. Instead, a decisive influence of the total carbon content is observed, with lower total carbon contents ...
