This chapter introduces Tracer Study methodology, a cost-effective, capacity building tool for evaluating the operations and effectiveness of Virtual Communities of Practice (VCoPs). We make the argument that a VCoP is a dynamic, continually evolving entity, whose characteristics distinguish it in important ways from naturally occurring or purposively ...

Ferrokinetic studies with stable isotopes as tracers
Medical Physics, 1987A methodology for ferrokinetic studies based on the administration of iron stable isotopes was developed. Fractional plasma clearance and intestinal iron absorption in rabbits were determined using the double tracer technique. Three rabbits were given 58Fe solution intravenously and about 40 min later 57Fe solution orally.

Tracer Study In an Urban Valley
Journal of the Air Pollution Control Association, 1968Results of a series of nighttime tracer experiments conducted during the Autumn of 1966 in the industrialized valley of Johnstown, Pa., are discussed. Quite atypical meteorology and dispersion occur within a classical drainage flow framework. An urban heat island effect is observed creating uniform temperature and wind structures within a layer of air ...
