Primary pulmonary salivary gland-type tumors in cytopathology practice: A systematic review and meta-analysis. [PDF]

open access: yesCancer Cytopathol
Abstract Background Primary pulmonary salivary gland‐type tumors (PSGTs) are rare but clinically significant tumors that originate from the submucosal glands of the tracheobronchial tree. Cytologic samples taken during bronchoscopy are a key component of preoperative evaluation. However, cytologic diagnosis remains challenging because of the submucosal

Intrapatient tumour heterogeneity and clonal evolution in an autopsy study of metastatic salivary gland cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumour heterogeneity and clonal evolution of metastatic salivary gland cancer were evaluated in two patients with adenoid carcinoma and one patient with myoepithelial carcinoma. Radiology‐guided autopsy enabled multi‐region sampling (total samples n = 149), followed by whole‐genome sequencing and phylogenetic reconstruction (17 tumour samples, 4–7 per ...

A rare case of multiple secondary endotracheal metastasis from early stage small cell cancer

open access: yesRespiratory Medicine Case Reports, 2020
Introduction: Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC) is an aggressive malignancy with poor prognosis that accounts for 10% of all clinical lung cancer. SCLC commonly metastasizes to the mediastinum, liver, bone, adrenals, and the brain but secondary endotracheal ...

Primary tracheal small‐cell carcinoma detected 11 months after surgery for pulmonary large‐cell neuroendocrine carcinoma: A case report

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, 2023
Primary tracheal small‐cell carcinoma is rare, and is often treated using small‐cell lung cancer guidelines given that no standard treatment has been established for it.

A modified tracheal transection approach for cervical esophageal lesion treatment: A report of 13 cases

open access: yesFrontiers in Surgery, 2022
BackgroundSurgical interventions for tumors in the cervical esophageal region are complicated and laryngeal function is frequently sacrificed. Therefore, we attempted the tracheal transection approach to resect the tumor while preserving laryngeal ...

Magnesium Alloys for use as an Intraluminal Tracheal Stent [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Tracheal stenting is used for successful management of adult airway obstructions, including tracheal stenosis, a narrowing of the tracheal lumen due to trauma or prolonged intubation.

Radiographic measurements of the trachea in domestic short haired and Persian cats [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Tracheal diameter can be assessed from a thoracic radiograph, with assessment of tracheal diameter in dogs based on ratios between tracheal diameter and a skeletal measurement – however reference ranges are not available for the cat.

Loss of E3 Ubiquitin Ligase RINES via CpG Methylation Relieves Suppression of STAT3 and MYC, Facilitating Multiple Tumorigeneses

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dysregulated protein modifications drive tumorigenesis. RINES, an E3 ubiquitin ligase, represses tumor cell proliferation and metastasis by facilitating RING domain‐dependent, ubiquitin–proteasome‐mediated degradation of STAT3 and MYC, which consequently restrains cancer stemness and oncogenic progression.
