Journal of Craniofacial Surgery, 2018

[Tracheal resection and tracheal replacement].

Der Chirurg; Zeitschrift fur alle Gebiete der operativen Medizen, 2002
Resection of cervical and thoracic tracheal segments is still the method of choice in treatment of strictures and tumors in operable patients. Consequences from long-term mechanical ventilation have become less frequent nowadays. En bloc resection following tracheostoma complications can be delicate, as well as redo resections of recurrent stenoses ...

Extended Tracheal Resection: Carinal Resections.

Thoracic surgery clinics
Carinal resection is defined as the resection of tracheal-bronchial bifurcation with or without associated lung resection. It is usually indicated in case of primary tumors with limited involvement of the carina. The reported mortality ranges from 3% to 20% in high-volume centers. The surgical approach depends on the location of the lesion. Surgery for

Resection of the bronchial and the tracheal mucosa

An uncommon indication for tracheal resection.

The Journal of cardiovascular surgery, 1996
In well selected cases, in which preoperative investigations allow us to plan a tracheal resection-anastomosis, surgery is the best current treatment also for secondary tumours involving the trachea. We report a case of a patient suffering from severe dyspnoea for tracheal stenosis due to recurrence of an epidermoid cancer of the tongue.

[Tracheal resection and reconstruction for tracheal stenosis].

Kyobu geka. The Japanese journal of thoracic surgery, 2008
Five patients underwent surgery for tracheal stenosis. The cause of stenosis was congenital tracheal stenosis in 1 case, post-intubation tracheal stenosis in 1 case, and tracheal stenosis due to thyroid cancer invasion in 3 cases. All 5 patients required circumferential tracheal resection and end-to-end anastomosis using 4-0 or 5-0 absorbable sutures ...
