Evaluation of a Rat Cardiopulmonary Bypass Model Using an Extraluminal Flow Oxygenator
Artificial Organs, EarlyView.A rat cardiopulmonary bypass model was constructed incorporating the developed extraluminal flow oxygenator and compared with a commercial intraluminal flow oxygenator. Both oxygenators demonstrated comparable gas exchange performance and inflammatory responses; however, the one developed in this study better preserved PLT counts.

Hormonal Treatment During Ex Vivo Lung Perfusion Ameliorates Brain Death Induced Inflammation
Artificial Organs, EarlyView.Treatment of lungs during ex vivo perfusion with 17β‐estradiol and methylprednisolone improved graft quality. In females, treated and non‐treated groups presented reduced leukocyte infiltration and only the treatment improved perfusion flow. In males, treatment improved lung function by increasing compliance, paO2, and perfusion flow.
