Synergistic perspectives—How single‐molecule biophysics complement biochemical understanding

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this review, we discuss how ensemble biochemistry and single‐molecule approaches are complementary, outline commonly used single‐molecule techniques, and illustrate their relevance through two representative case studies: chromatin organization by SMC complexes and pathway choice during DNA double‐strand break repair.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

A systematic review of incidence of pin track infections associated with external fixation

open access: yesJournal of Limb Lengthening & Reconstruction, 2016
Depending on the reference, pin track infection rates in external fixation surgery have been stated to be anywhere from 0% to 100%. We critically evaluated the pin track infection rate for external fixation by performing systematic review of the external

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

Bivariate normal distribution for finding inliers in Hough space for a Time Projection Chamber

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
A Time Projection Chamber (TPC) is foreseen as the main tracking detector for the International Large Detector (ILD), one of the two detectors for the next candidate collider named International Linear Collider (ILC) [1].

Adaptive Hough Transform for Charged Particles Tracking at the LHC [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
The High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) will significantly increase the number of simultaneous proton-proton interactions per bunch crossing, making efficient track reconstruction increasingly challenging.

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.
