Designed Lewis Acid–Base Passivation for High Performance Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Silicon's high cost and long energy payback time remain major barriers to the global expansion of solar power. In contrast, metal–halide perovskites offer abundant, solution‐processable absorbers, and have achieved efficiencies of 25%–30%, positioning them as strong competitors to silicon.

Unraveling MXene Oxidation Mechanisms Under Realistic Gas Environments by In Situ Gas‐Cell TEM

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Real‐time visualization of MXene degradation reveals a fundamental oxidation mechanism under oxygen and moisture environments. Using in situ gas‐cell electron microscopy, this study demonstrates that oxygen degradation drives a thermodynamically controlled high‐temperature transformation into mixed rutile/anatase phases.

A Bayesian model to assess rail track geometry degradation through its life-cycle

open access: yes, 2012
One of the major drawbacks in rail track investments is the high level of uncertainty in maintenance, renewal and unavailability costs for the Infrastructure Managers (IM) during the life-cycle of the infrastructure.

Magnetic‐Field Control of Surface States in CoFe2O4 Thin Films for Nitrate Electroreduction to Ammonia

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic‐field‐assisted CVD of heterometallic single‐source precursors modulates thin‐film surface electronic structure and interfacial charge transfer. Field‐grown (Cobalt ferrite‐1T)CF‐1T films exhibit stabilized electronic states, lower kinetic barriers, and markedly enhanced nitrate‐to‐ammonia electrocatalysis versus (Cobalt ferrite‐0T) CF‐0T ...

Application of principal component analysis and artificial neural network in prediction of track geometry degradation

open access: yes, 2019
Railway track geometry subjects to degradation with age and usage and highly affects track functionality. An accurate prediction of track geometry degradation is essential to enhance the performance of maintenance planning and scheduling.

Uncertainty analysis of track degradation at railway turnouts aided by a multi-body simulation software

open access: yes, 2019
Railway turnouts are elements exposed to an accelerated track degradation when compared to plain line track. The particular and complex wheel/rail contact characteristics in railway turnouts make the contact forces acting on the wheel/rail interface ...

A Tracking and Mapping Method for Visually-degraded Environment

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences
Abstract. When exploring uncertain areas, the system usually relies on Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) to map the surrounding environment and track the location through the environment. Recent work has shown that the SLAM algorithm can exhibit strong robustness when observing distinctive features.

Multimodal Perception and Machine Learning‐Empowered Human Machine Interfaces With Double‐Network Hydrogel Fibers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work develops polyacrylamide‐alginate (PAM‐Alg) double‐network hydrogel fibers for multimodal perception and intelligent human‐machine interfaces. The covalent‐ionic network provides high strength, toughness, and stable conductivity. Easily woven into wearables and integrated with soft robots, the fibers enable object and temperature recognitions ...
