Modelling railway track geometry deterioration
Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers - Transport, 2011Understanding track geometry deterioration decisively influences the planning and optimisation of track maintenance and renewal works and consequently the substantial related costs (savings) each year of every railway. To understand this deterioration it must be accurately modelled, paving the way towards its forecasting into the future.

Vehicle reactions versus track geometry
ASME/IEEE Joint Conference on Railroads, 1990For assessment purposes the total range of relevant wavelengths for differential settlements is split up into a number of wavebands in accordance with vehicle response characteristics to deformations in the track geometry and the potential of maintenance machines to correct the track geometry.

Autonomous track geometry diagnostics system
Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2004Abstract The paper presents the background of the diagnostic analysis for railways and trams (DART), automatic diagnostic analysis tool for the track geometry measurement data—as separate track data files or track data read from the database. The diagnostic module indicates the “weak locations” in the track, which can be further analysed in detail by

Track Structure, Chromosome Geometry and Chromosome Aberrations
1994The joint role of radiation track structure and chromosome geometry in determining yields of chromosome aberrations is discussed. Ideally, the geometric models of chromosomes used for analyzing aberration yields should have the same degree of realism as track structure models.
