A pole-zero-tracking constant modulus algorithm
International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2003An approach to multipath correction in FM transmission is proposed. It is based on the factorization of the channel transfer function in terms of the roots of the underlying polynomial. A time-recursive algorithm for the identification of the roots of the all-zero channel transfer function at the receiver is presented.

Resilient Modulus Backcalculation Techniques for Track
Performance Confirmation of Constructed Geotechnical Facilities, 2000The layer moduli of track substructure components are important factors in the evaluation of track condition and estimation of maintenance costs. Layer moduli can be estimated from in-situ tests such as the cone penetration test (CPT); however, for layers of open graded aggregate, such as railway ballast with large individual particles, the results of ...

On the Tracking Performance of a Family of Generalized Constant Modulus Algorithm
2007 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing - ICASSP '07, 2007Based on an energy conservation relation, the tracking performance of a family of generalized constant modulus algorithm (GCMA) is analyzed in this paper. Both theoretical analysis and simulation results validate the excellent tracking performance of the extended constant modulus algorithm (ECMA) in some situations.

Exception Criteria in Vertical Track Deflection and Modulus
ASME/IEEE 2007 Joint Rail Conference and Internal Combustion Engine Division Spring Technical Conference, 2007The network constraints of freight railroad traffic are moving the industry to heavier tonnage trains, higher axle loads and increased velocity. The dynamics of heavier axle loads and speed produce high stresses in the track infrastructure. Track integrity is strongly related to the vertical track modulus — the relationship between the rail deflection ...

Tracking behavior of the constant modulus array for time-varying channels
1996 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing Conference Proceedings, 2002In this paper, we present a stochastic analysis of the constant modulus (CM) array for time-varying channels. An expression for the mean-square error is derived, which is based on a recursion for the weight-error correlation matrix. The analysis yields an accurate model of the tracking behavior of the CM array provided the array maintains capture on ...

Measurement of Vertical Track Modulus: Field Testing, Repeatability, and Effects of Track Geometry
IEEE/ASME/ASCE 2008 Joint Rail Conference, 2008The heavy axle loads and high speeds of modern freight trains produce high track stresses leading to quicker track degradation. Track loads can be increased by variations in vertical track stiffness — the relationship between vertical rail deflection and the vertical applied load — and vertical track modulus. Both low track modulus and large variations

ACTIVE CONTOUR MODEL USING WAVELET MODULUS FOR OBJECT SEGMENTATION AND TRACKING IN VIDEO SEQUENCES
International Journal of Wavelets, Multiresolution and Information Processing, 2003We propose an integrated wavelet-based framework of the active contour model (snake) for segmentation and motion tracking of deformable objects in video sequences. The input image frame is represented by means of wavelet transform. First, the moduli of wavelet transform coefficients are used in a multi-resolution motion estimation process to find the ...

Evaluating the potential of a rolling deflection measurement system to estimate track modulus
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part F: Journal of Rail and Rapid Transit, 2016Over the past two decades, a rolling deflection measurement system aiming to continuously measure the track modulus has been under development at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln under the sponsorship of the Federal Railroad Administration. This system measures the relative vertical distance (referred to as Y

Tracking highly correlated sources via multistage constant modulus array
Oceans 2003. Celebrating the Past ... Teaming Toward the Future (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37492), 2003An effective method is proposed for "half blindly" recovering coherent signals impinging on a uniform linear array (ULA) and estimating their directions of arrival (DOAs). The generalized steering vector is blindly estimated from the CM array, where the steering vectors to all coherent signals are reconstructed directly by using the property of ...
