Mechanisms of parasite‐mediated disruption of brain vessels

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Parasites can affect the blood vessels of the brain, often causing serious neurological problems. This review explains how different parasites interact with and disrupt these vessels, what this means for brain health, and why these processes matter. Understanding these mechanisms may help us develop better ways to prevent or treat brain infections in ...

Diagnostic effectiveness of HIV-1 quantitative nucleic acid assay as a supplementary test for individuals with indeterminate or negative western blot antibody test results — China, 2018–2023

open access: yesBMC Infectious Diseases
Background Based on China’s current HIV-1 testing algorithm, samples with initial positive antibody screening require two additional repeat tests, with infection status confirmed by HIV-1 antibody Western Blot or nucleic acid testing (NAT).

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF AN OBJECT TRACKING SYSTEM CONTROL USING PID AND MOVEMENT PREDICTION [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The tracking system usually has some lack of problem, that is unstable system when the object moved so the tracking process can’t define the object position well. On the other hands, when the object moves, the system can’t track object suddenly along

Mobile Formation Coordination and Tracking Control for Multiple Non-holonomic Vehicles

open access: yes, 2019
This paper addresses forward motion control for trajectory tracking and mobile formation coordination for a group of non-holonomic vehicles on SE(2). Firstly, by constructing an intermediate attitude variable which involves vehicles' position information

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Hydraulic system provides smooth control of large tracking and antenna drive systems at very low tracking rates [PDF]

open access: yes, 1967
Hydraulic system provides smooth control of large tracking and antenna drive systems at very low tracking rates. This configuration modifies a series connection of the drive motors with compensating orifices to offset the effects of drain line loss ...

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Isolation and relationship analysis of Listeria phages with various serotype hosts and morphological characterization

open access: yesVirology Journal
Listeriosis, caused by Listeria monocytogenes (Lm), is a severe foodborne illness with a high fatality rate. Listeria phages specifically target and lyse Lm, offer a promising alternative for biocontrol and phage therapy.
