DEFINITION OF LOCOMOTIVE TRACTION FORCE WITH REGARD TO UNEVEN LOADING OF WHEEL-MOTOR BLOCK

open access: yesNauka ta progres transportu, 2013
Purpose. The article describes the most common methods for determining the locomotive traction force. Solving the tasks of traction calculations involves determination of the forces influencing the train at every point of the way.

A novel method for quantifying traction forces on hexagonal micropatterned protein features on deformable poly-dimethyl siloxane sheets

open access: yesMethodsX, 2019
Many methods exist for quantifying cellular traction forces, including traction force microscopy and microfabricated post arrays. However, these methodologies have limitations, including a requirement to remove cells to determine undeflected particle ...

Anti‐Slip Material‐Based Strategies and Approaches

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This review highlights the principle mechanisms of slipping at the microscale, linking contact mechanics with a friction behavior model for surface interfaces. Main strategies to develop anti‐slip properties to the surfaces are discussed alongside standardized testing approaches.

Lumbar mechanical traction: a biomechanical assessment of change at the lumbar spine

open access: yesBMC Musculoskeletal Disorders, 2019
Background Lumbar traction is a traditional treatment modality for chronic low back pain (CLBP) in many countries. However, its effectiveness has not been demonstrated in clinical practice because of the following: (1) the lack of in vivo biomechanical ...

Single Cell Traction Force Mapping Software

open access: yes, 2015
A software was developed for the representation of cell traction forces at different levels of intensity. A cell traction force map records the distributions of forces exerted by a cell on a liquid crystal substrate which was manifested as deformation lines. The algorithm was specially developed by applying an established force-deformation coefficient.

Characterization of Droplet Formation in Ultrasonic Spray Coating: Influence of Ink Formulation Using Phase Doppler Anemometry and Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study explores how machine learning models, trained on small experimental datasets obtained via Phase Doppler Anemometry (PDA), can accurately predict droplet size (D32) in ultrasonic spray coating (USSC). By capturing the influence of ink complexity (solvent, polymer, nanoparticles), power, and flow rate, the model enables precise droplet control
