Multilevel invertors of traction motors
Russian Electrical Engineering, 2011The peculiarities of using multilevel (three-level) voltage inverters for traction purposes are studied. It is shown that a three-level inverter allows one to achieve economical voltage control in traction motors which reduces losses in both devices and a traction drive in general.

Applicability of Tractional Electric Motors
Russian Engineering Research, 2018The practicality of three armature designs for tractional electric motors (power 560–755 kW, tractional force 5326 kgf) is analyzed. The use of an armature shaft of variable (reinforced) cross section in place of the armature with a sleeve is proposed, and suggestions are made regarding the assembly of the bearings.
