UNCERTAINTY IN PRICING TRADABLE OPTIONS

International Journal of Theoretical and Applied Finance, 2003
In this paper we introduce an options pricing model consistent with the level of uncertainty observed in the options market. By assuming that the price at which an option can be traded is intrinsically uncertain, either because of the inability to hedge continuously or because of errors in the estimation of the security's volatility and interest rates,

Tradable Permits versus Tradable Credits: A Survey and Analysis

International Review of Environmental and Resource Economics, 2012
This article compares tradable permits with tradable credits, two distinct economic instruments of environmental policy. It is demonstrated that under credit trading, which is an addition to (relative) emission standards, residual emissions are free of cost. Under permit trading (cap-and-trade), residual emissions always have a cost.

EXPLAINING TRADABLE AND NON‐TRADABLE PRICES IN THE U.K.*

The Manchester School, 1996
A marked divergence in inflation rates between the tradable and nontradables sectors has been a feature of some European Union economies, notably Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom, since the early 1980s. This paper sets out a theoretical framework, which treats as alternatives the assumptions that firms in the tradable sector are price-takers or ...

Tradable and non-tradable inflation in consumer prices in Pakistan

Statistical Journal of the IAOS: Journal of the International Association for Official Statistics, 2019
According to monetarists, inflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon. It may, however, have supply side drivers; including global commodity prices. In order to have better understanding of inflation dynamics in a small open economy like Pakistan, we need some new sub-indices within CPI basket. In this paper, we have proposed and estimated

Trade and tradability [PDF]

open access: possible, 2002
We extend the Salter-Swan model to include both factor markets and semi-traded goods. In our model, changes in relative factor prices depend on changes in world commodity prices, factor endowments, and the trade balance. In contrast, only changes in world commodity prices can affect factor prices in the neoclassical trade model.

Open economy macroeconomics typically takes as exogenously given important aspects of the pattern of international trade. This paper shows how heterogeneity in trade costs and heterogeneity in productivities work together to jointly determine features of the pattern of international trade and the macroeconomic effects of productivity shocks.

Making Web services tradable
