Efficiency Wage and Labor Discipline Models: Matched-Panel Evidence from Brazilian Construction Industry [PDF]

open access: yes
The aim of this paper is to test the relationship between wage and workers’ labor effort for the Brazilian construction industry. This relationship is stated by both the shirking and the labor discipline versions of efficiency wage models.

Zwitterionic Self‐Assembled Monolayer for Simultaneous Noise Suppression and Hole Extraction in High‐Performance Near‐Infrared Organic Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a new hole transporting material (HTM) mechanism for self‐assembled monolayers in near‐infrared organic photodetectors. The formation of zwitterions induces a strong electric field that significantly increases the work function of HTM‐coated indium tin oxide substrates. The devices exhibit low dark current and noise, along with high

Firm - specific determinants of capital structure: Evidence from Vietnam during the period of 2007 - 2011

open access: yesJournal of International Economics and Management, 2013
We analyse the relationship between four key firm- specific indicators of capital structure of 85 Vietnamese non- financial listed firms during the period from 2007 to 2011, and the extent to which the Financial Crisis between 2008 and 2009 affects ...

Tin‐Oxo Nanocluster Extreme UV Photoresists Equipped with Chemical Features for Atmospheric Stability and High EUV Sensitivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fluoroalkyl‐functionalized tin–oxo nanoclusters (N‐TOC6) enable robust pattern formation through ligand crosslinking under EUV exposure without thermal processing. Sn–F coordination mitigates the Lewis acidity of Sn centers, suppressing reactions with airborne molecules and improving post‐exposure pattern stability.

Cash holdings in MENA region: evidence from trade-off model, pecking order theory, and agency theory

open access: yesFuture Business Journal
This study examines firms’ cash holdings (CH) in the MENA region. For the period 2000–2020, the fixed effect method and GMM are applied to a sample of 1053 non-financial firms. The results show that firms that are large in size, and higher in cash flows,

The licensing dilemma: understanding the determinants of the rate of technology licensing. [PDF]

open access: yes
The licensing of technology entails a trade-off: licensing payments net of transaction costs (revenue effect) must be balanced against the lower price-cost margin and/or reduced market share implied by increased competition (profit dissipation effect ...

Why Queerness is not enough [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Moral error theorists often claim to be strongly anti‑metaphysical in their moral scepticism and atheistic naturalists. This paper argues that pre‑ cisely this becomes a problem for them, when their metaethical and ontologi‑

Universal Electronic‐Structure Relationship Governing Intrinsic Magnetic Properties in Permanent Magnets

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Permanent magnets derive their extraordinary strength from deep, universal electronic‐structure principles that control magnetization, anisotropy, and intrinsic performance. This work uncovers those governing rules, examines modern modeling and AI‐driven discovery methods, identifies critical bottlenecks, and reveals electronic fingerprints shared ...

A Structural Model of Export versus Affiliates Production [PDF]

open access: yes
We derive and estimate an econometric model of export versus foreign production using firm-level data on foreign activities of German multinationals. Proximity-concentration theory which we derive our model from shows that firms face a trade-off between ...

Laser‐Welded Cellulose‐Carbon Nanotube Nanocomposites as a 3D Scaffold of Si Anodes for High‐Performance Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A Si anode comprising entangled networks of cellulose and SWCNT (C‐CNT) nanocomposites as an anode electrode for a high‐performance LIB is realized by fully utilizing the generated microstructure of a novel conductive 3D scaffold via a low‐temperature and eco‐friendly process. Additionally, localized heating via photo‐thermal conversion can be utilized
