The Standard Model of Trade and the Marshall – Lerner Condition
There are similarities between standard trade model and Marshall-Lerner condition. However, in order to see whether the condition can work both ways (with decrease and increase of the currency exchange rate), and the properties of this model could be ...

Simultaneous Estimation of Income and Price Elasticities of Export Demand, Scale Economies and Total Factor Productivity Growth for Brazil [PDF]
This paper focuses on a model in which low (high) export demand elasticities and the fact that developing countries are importers of capital goods help explaining the slow (high) growth of these countries.

Armington Parameter Estimation for a Computable General Equilibrium Model: A Database Consistent Approach [PDF]
Substitution elasticities in policy-oriented computable general equilibrium (CGE) models are key parameters for model results since they determine behaviour in these models. As Dawkins et al.

This review highlights recent advances in smart face masks that actively monitor breathing. By integrating humidity, gas, temperature, pressure, strain, and triboelectric sensors, these masks track key respiratory parameters in real time. The article summarizes sensor mechanisms, compares performance across studies, and discusses challenges and future ...

THE PRODUCTION THEORY APPROACH TO IMPORT DEMAND ANALYSIS: A COMPARISON OF THE ROTTERDAM MODEL AND THE DIFFERENTIAL PRODUCTION APPROACH [PDF]
Results indicate that, when comparing the unconditional derived-demand elasticities to the unconditional consumer demand elasticities, significant differences emerge due to the differences in the first-stage estimation procedure between the differential ...

Wound closure is governed by geometry‐orientation coupling: aligned fibers speed migration along their axis but hinder perpendicular advance. In vivo diabetic wound experiments with composition‐matched fibrin, combined with an anisotropic diffusion (biased random‐walk) model, quantify this trade‐off and generate a healing landscape.
