Non-exhaust traffic emissions: Sources, characterization, and mitigation measures.

Science of the Total Environment, 2021
Non-exhaust emissions (NEE) of particulate matter (PM) from brake, tyre, road pavement and railway wear, as well as resuspension of already deposited road dust, account for up to 90% by mass of total traffic-related PM emitted.

Adaptive Traffic Signal Control With Deep Reinforcement Learning and High Dimensional Sensory Inputs: Case Study and Comprehensive Sensitivity Analyses

IEEE transactions on intelligent transportation systems (Print), 2022
Despite the constant rise in global urban populations and subsequent rise in transportation demand, significant expansion of infrastructure has been hampered by the constraints of space, cost, and environmental concerns.

Multidimensional analyses of judgments about traffic noise

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1976
In a laboratory experiment, human subjects were presented pairs of recorded 1-min traffic sounds. Subjects chose whichever sound of each pair they thought they would rather be exposed to on a regular basis; they also judged the relative dissimilarity of the sounds in each pair. The data were analyzed using multidimensional scaling techniques.

Statistical analyses of freeway traffic flows

Journal of Forecasting, 2001
AbstractThis paper concerns the exploration of statistical models for the analysis of observational freeway flow data, and the development of empirical models to capture and predict short‐term changes in traffic flow characteristics on sequences of links in a partially detectorized freeway network. A first set of analyses explores regression models for

Traffic Analyses and Measurements

2015
Resource management schemes in current data centers, including cloud environments, are not well equipped to handle the dynamic variation in traffic caused by the large diversity of traffic sources, source mobility patterns, and underlying network characteristics.

Modeling Heterogeneous Traffic Mixing Regular, Connected, and Connected-Autonomous Vehicles Under Connected Environment

IEEE transactions on intelligent transportation systems (Print), 2021
As inter-vehicle communication and automatic driving technology continue to develop, but are not yet popular, regular vehicles, connected vehicles and connected autonomous vehicles (CAVs) will coexist on the road for a long time.

Flow Aggregator Module for Analysing Network Traffic

2018
Network flow aggregation is a significant task for network analysis, which summarises the flows and improves the performance of intrusion detection systems (IDSs). Although there are some well-known flow analysis tools in the industry, such as NetFlow, sFlow and IPFIX, they can only aggregate one attribute at a time which increases networks’ overheads ...

Quality assurance in road traffic analyses in Switzerland

Forensic Science International, 2010
Swiss laboratories performing toxicological road traffic analyses have been authorized for many years by the Swiss Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). In 2003 FEDRO signed a contract with the Swiss Society of Legal Medicine (SSLM) to organize the complete quality management concerning road traffic analyses.

Deep Learning on Network Traffic Prediction: Recent Advances, Analysis, and Future Directions

ACM Computing Surveys
From the perspective of telecommunications, next-generation networks, or beyond 5G, will inevitably face the challenge of a growing number of users and devices. Such growth results in high-traffic generation with limited network resources.

Distinguishing traffic modes in analysing road safety development

Accident Analysis & Prevention, 2008
Changes in mobility influence road safety. The effects of safety measures may even be overshadowed by the effects of temporary mobility fluctuations. Usually mobility is corrected for by defining risk as the ratio between fatalities and mobility. Due to lack of sufficient data, mobility is often approximated by car mobility.
