A Normal Wiggly Pythagorean Hesitant Fuzzy Bidirectional Projection Method and Its Application in EV Power Battery Recycling Mode Selection

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
As a useful mathematical tool to solve the multi-attribute decision-making (MADM) problems, Pythagorean hesitant fuzzy set (PHFS) permits decision makers (DMs) to give several evaluation values in membership and non-membership degrees.

A minimal model for congestion phenomena on complex networks

open access: yes, 2009
We study a minimal model of traffic flows in complex networks, simple enough to get analytical results, but with a very rich phenomenology, presenting continuous, discontinuous as well as hybrid phase transitions between a free-flow phase and a congested

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Mechanisms of parasite‐mediated disruption of brain vessels

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Parasites can affect the blood vessels of the brain, often causing serious neurological problems. This review explains how different parasites interact with and disrupt these vessels, what this means for brain health, and why these processes matter. Understanding these mechanisms may help us develop better ways to prevent or treat brain infections in ...

Distributed control of urban traffic networks using hybrid models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Urban traffic control poses a challenging problem in terms of coordinating the different traffic lights that can be used in order to influence the traffic flow. Model based control requires hybrid systems models consisting of interacting fluid flow Petri

Ectoenzymes controlling leukocyte traffic [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, 2012
AbstractEctoenzymes are a diverse group of membrane proteins that have their catalytic sites outside the plasma membrane. Many of them are found on leukocytes and endothelial cells, and they are multifunctional in nature. Collectively, different ectoenzymes can modulate each step of leukocyte–endothelial contacts, as well as subsequent cell migration ...

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...
