Traffic speed forecasting by mixture of experts
2011 14th International IEEE Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSC), 2011Traffic speed is one of the most important quantities for travel information systems. Accurate speed forecasting can help in trip planning by allowing travelers to avoid the congested routes, either by choosing the alternative routes or by changing the departure time. It is also helpful for traffic monitoring, control, and planning.

TRAFFIC FORECAST IN LARGE SCALE FREEWAY NETWORKS
International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2004Traffic flow in large and complex freeway networks is a highly nonlinear phenomenon, which makes traffic forecast a difficult task. In this article an approach to traffic forecast is presented, which uses a micro-simulator for traffic flow combined with current and historical traffic data.
