Study of technical parameters of experimental traffic signs — results obtained within the frames of RID 4F research project

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
This article presents the principles of selection of colours and the thickness of lines during designing of traffic signs, the legal aspects traffic signs must correspond to, test methods used during assessment of both roadway markings and vertical ...

Automatic Detection of Regulatory Traffic Signs via Circle Detection by Post Edge Detection Applied to Straight Line Hough Transform

open access: yesInternational Journal of Automotive Science and Technology, 2020
In this paper, a new effective method for automatic detection of circular traffic signs is introduced. Automatic traffic sign recognition is a crucial application of Driver Assistance Systems for safe and comfortable driving conditions. The major step of

The role of lipid metabolism in neuronal senescence

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Disrupted lipid metabolism, through alterations in lipid species or lipid droplet accumulation, can drive neuronal senescence. However, lipid dyshomeostasis can also occur alongside neuronal senescence, further amplifying tissue damage. Delineating how lipid‐induced senescence emerges in neurons and glial cells, and how it contributes to ageing and ...

BMI‐1 modulation and trafficking during M phase in diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The schematic illustrates BMI‐1 phosphorylation during M phase, which triggers its translocation from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. In cycling cells, BMI‐1 functions within the PRC1 complex to mediate H2A K119 monoubiquitination. Following PTC596‐induced M phase arrest, phosphorylated BMI‐1 dissociates from PRC1 and is exported to the cytoplasm via its

Rare Traffic Signs Recognition

open access: yesProceedings of the 31th International Conference on Computer Graphics and Vision. Volume 2, 2021
Recognition of road signs is an important part of the control systems of autonomous vehicles and driver assistance systems. Modern recognition methods based on neural networks require large well-labeled datasets. Marking up data is quite expensive, but it is even more difficult to mark up rare classes of objects.

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Detection for Deformed and Sheltered Circular Traffic Signs

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2015
In this paper, a simple and efficient algorithm for detecting deformed and sheltered circular traffic signs under the complex natural scenes is proposed. First, the image is segmented by adaptive hybrid gradation method.

Innate Immune Reprogramming Mediated by Endogenous Retroelement Dysregulation Drives Multiple Sclerosis Progression

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Epigenetic reprogramming in hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) and downstream myeloid cells, mediated by H3.3 downregulation and endogenous retroelement (ERE) overexpression, contributes to the progression of multiple sclerosis (MS). ABSTRACT Background Skewed myelopoiesis in the bone marrow has been identified as a key driver of multiple ...
