Applying the IUCN Global Ecosystem Typology to classify, describe, and map ecosystems based on regional data and Indigenous knowledge

open access: yesConservation Biology, EarlyView.
Four streams of infromation, data, and knowledges are brought together into an ecosystem typology for the Tiwi Islands. The Typology contains written descriptions and conceptual models for each ecosystem, cross‐reference to other classification schemes, and a map of ecosystem distributions. Abstract Effective ecosystem conservation for biodiversity and

Insect floral visitors vary spatiotemporally and influence fruit production in mango orchards

open access: yesEcological Entomology, EarlyView.
Native stingless bees (Tetragonula spp.) were the most abundant flower visitors in mango orchards, and their visitation sharply declined with distance from native vegetation. Hover flies and stingless bees showed complementary spatiotemporal visitation patterns, but hover flies could not fully offset pollination loss deeper in the orchard.

Prolonged flow intermittency undermines the habitat potential of forested landscapes for a stream‐dwelling dragonfly

open access: yesEcological Entomology, EarlyView.
Forested catchments significantly increase the likelihood of occurrence. Prolonged flow intermittency undermines this potential, even in otherwise suitable landscapes. Conservation strategies must address both land use and hydrological conditions to support the presence of C. heros in drying river networks.

Climate change and hyponatremia‐related hospital admissions in people with focal epilepsy exposed to carbamazepine or its derivatives

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective To estimate the proportion of individuals with focal epilepsy treated with at least one among carbamazepine (CBZ), oxcarbazepine (OXC), or eslicarbazepine (ESL), who were hospitalized due to hyponatremia‐related symptoms in 2024, and to test the hypothesis that there is an association with climatic variables.
