Monitoring of Performance and Training in Rowing

Sports Medicine, 2005
Rowing is a strength-endurance type of sport and competition performance depends on factors such as aerobic and anaerobic power, physical power, rowing technique and tactics. Therefore, a rower has to develop several capacities in order to be successful and a valid testing battery of a rower has to include parameters that are highly related to rowing ...

Biochemical Monitoring of Training

Clinical Journal of Sport Medicine, 1992
AbstractA training stimulus can be effective only if intensity and duration of the training workload correspond to the present individual workload capacity. On this narrow strait between training below an effective threshold on the one hand and overtraining on the other, sports medicine has ...

Training for Muscular Strength: Methods for Monitoring and Adjusting Training Intensity

Sports Medicine, 2021
Linear loading, the two-for-two rule, percent of one repetition maximum (1RM), RM zones, rate of perceived exertion (RPE), repetitions in reserve, set-repetition best, autoregulatory progressive resistance exercise (APRE), and velocity-based training (VBT) are all methods of adjusting resistance training intensity.

A New Approach to Monitoring Exercise Training

Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, 2001
The ability to monitor training is critical to the process of quantitating training periodization plans. To date, no method has proven successful in monitoring training during multiple types of exercise. High-intensity exercise training is particularly difficult to quantitate.

Thermography to Monitoring of Sports Training: An Overview

Pan American Journal of Medical Thermology, 2015
Thermography measures have been increasingly used as a preventive resource and control method in the sports training monitoring. The purpose of this study was to present an overview of applications and analysis of thermal images in sports training, as well as presenting the parameters and standards for its use in the sports training monitoring. This is

Integrity monitoring of train positioning with GNSS

2016 IEEE/ION Position, Location and Navigation Symposium (PLANS), 2016
This paper discusses the integrity monitoring of train positioning with GNSS. It is shown that the number of samples needed to approximate the probability distribution of errors caused by interference with a sufficiently small risk is astronomically large. As an alternative, a geometrical upper bound for these errors is proposed.

Training Monitoring Skills in Helicopter Pilots

Aviation, Space, and Environmental Medicine, 2014
Prior research has indicated that ineffective pilot monitoring has been associated with aircraft accidents. Despite this finding, empirical research concerning pilot monitoring skill training programs is nearly nonexistent. E-learning may prove to be an effective method to foster nontechnical flight skills, including monitoring. This study examined the
