Optimizing Angiopep‐2 Density on Polymeric Nanoparticles for Enhanced Blood–Brain Barrier Penetration and Glioblastoma Targeting: Insights From In Vitro and In Vivo Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The Angiopep‐2 peptide density on polymeric nanoparticles significantly impacts blood–brain barrier (BBB) penetration. This study explores this nuanced relationship using various in vitro models and in vivo assays, revealing that dynamic models better predict BBB penetration.

Video-based Automatic Lameness Detection of Dairy Cows using Pose Estimation and Multiple Locomotion Traits [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
This study presents an automated lameness detection system that uses deep-learning image processing techniques to extract multiple locomotion traits associated with lameness. Using the T-LEAP pose estimation model, the motion of nine keypoints was extracted from videos of walking cows.

Tuning D‐Band Center of Vanadium in Constructing Lattice‐Matched Coherent Heterostructure for Enhanced Sodium Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The coherent heterostructure and the strong stress field at the heterointerface upshift the d‐band center of vanadium toward the Fermi level, which effectively lowers the Na+ diffusion barrier, facilitates charge transfer and accelerates reaction kinetics.

Personality Trait Recognition using ECG Spectrograms and Deep Learning [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
This paper presents an innovative approach to recognizing personality traits using deep learning (DL) methods applied to electrocardiogram (ECG) signals. Within the framework of detecting the big five personality traits model encompassing extra-version, neuroticism, agreeableness, conscientiousness, and openness, the research explores the potential of ...

High‐Throughput Microfluidic‐Mediated Assembly of Layer‐By‐Layer Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The layer‐by‐layer (LbL) assembly of polymer films on nanoparticle (NP) surfaces is a promising technique for targeted drug delivery. Despite its success in preclinical mouse models, a current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) compliant, clinical‐scale production method has been lacking.

Rationale Behind Essay Scores: Enhancing S-LLM's Multi-Trait Essay Scoring with Rationale Generated by LLMs [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Existing automated essay scoring (AES) has solely relied on essay text without using explanatory rationales for the scores, thereby forgoing an opportunity to capture the specific aspects evaluated by rubric indicators in a fine-grained manner. This paper introduces Rationale-based Multiple Trait Scoring (RMTS), a novel approach for multi-trait essay ...
