Genomic selection for wheat traits and trait stability

Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 2016
Based on the estimates of accuracy, genomic selection would be useful for selecting for improved trait values and trait stability for agronomic and quality traits in wheat. Trait values and trait stability estimated by two methods were generally independent indicating a breeder could select for both simultaneously.

Quantitative Traits

2014
Quantitative traits are phenotypic traits that are determined, jointly with the environment, by many genes of small effect. Most of the directly observable individual characteristics are quantitative traits. Differences in quantitative traits can give valuable signals on existence of separate stock components.

Quantitative trait loci for behavioural traits in chickens

Livestock Production Science, 2005
Abstract The detection of quantitative trait loci (QTL) of behavioural traits has mainly been focussed on mouse and rat. With the rapid development of molecular genetics and the statistical tools, QTL mapping for behavioural traits in farm animals is developing.

Quantitative trait loci for baseline erythroid traits

Mammalian Genome, 2006
A substantial genetic contribution underlies variation in baseline peripheral blood counts. We performed quantitative trait locus/loci (QTL) analyses to identify chromosome (Chr) regions harboring genes influencing the baseline erythroid parameters in F2 intercrosses between NZW/LacJ, SM/J, and C57BLKS/J inbred mice.

The “trait” of ascribing traits: Individual differences in the tendency to trait ascription

Journal of Research in Personality, 1980
Abstract People often use personality trait terms to describe themselves and others. But sometimes, instead, they will indicate that a person's behavior “depends on the situation.” The present study finds that some people ascribe traits more often, and indicate “depends on the situation” less often, than do others: The tendency to trait ascription is

Traite d'ophthalmologie.

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1939
The plan of this handbook is to furnish all that the ophthalmologist should know about his specialty and the related subjects. In addition to a complete exposition of anatomy, physiology, pathology, clinical ophthalmology, surgical technic and laboratory work, there are chapters on pure science, physical optics, comparative pathology and the general ...

Trait anxiety, trait depression, worry, and memory

Behaviour Research and Therapy, 2004
A study is reported which investigated the proposal that high trait anxiety is associated with a memory bias for worry themes. Forty-five participants were categorised as being high or low trait anxious on the basis of scores on the (Spielberger et al., 1983) (Manual for the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (Form Y) (1983)).

Traits

Companion to the 19th annual ACM SIGPLAN conference on Object-oriented programming systems, languages, and applications, 2004
This paper reports our experiences using traits, collections of pure methods designed to promote reuse and understandability in object-oriented programs. Traits had previously been used to refactor the Smalltalk collection hierarchy, but only by the creators of traits themselves.

THE ABILITY TO DELAY GRATIFICATION: A TRAIT-OR NOT A TRAIT?

Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1974
The purpose of this research was (a) to investigate with normal adults the convergence among several delay measures with different rationales and response modes; and (b) to examine the relationships between these variables and other personality measures which are theoretically tied to delay ability but whose relationships have not been empirically ...
