Parent Quality of Life at Two Years Following Their Child's Completion of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Treatment

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Parents of children treated for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often experience significant caregiver burden and disruption to their well‐being. While parent quality of life (QoL) during treatment is well characterized, little is known about outcomes during early survivorship.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Identifying Different Transportation Modes from Trajectory Data Using Tree-Based Ensemble Classifiers

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, 2017
Recognition of transportation modes can be used in different applications including human behavior research, transport management and traffic control. Previous work on transportation mode recognition has often relied on using multiple sensors or matching

Identifying Port Calls of Ships by Uncertain Reasoning with Trajectory Data

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, 2020
Considering that ports are key nodes of the maritime transport network, it is of great importance to identify ships’ arrivals and departures. Compared with partial proprietary data from a port authority or shipping company, approaches based on compulsory

Towards database support for moving object data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
To narrow down moving object challenges, the focus of this thesis is on four issues, namely, uncertainty handling for moving object data, faithful trajectory representation, trajectory compression techniques, and similarity measures for ...

Stochastic Feedback Control of Systems with Unknown Nonlinear Dynamics

open access: yes, 2017
This paper studies the stochastic optimal control problem for systems with unknown dynamics. First, an open-loop deterministic trajectory optimization problem is solved without knowing the explicit form of the dynamical system.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Identification of Urban Functional Regions in Chengdu Based on Taxi Trajectory Time Series Data

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, 2020
Overall scientific planning of urbanization layout is an important component of the new period of land spatial planning policies. Defining the main functions of different spaces and dividing urban functional areas are of great significance for optimizing

4D Trajectories: A functional data perspective [PDF]

open access: yes2007 IEEE/AIAA 26th Digital Avionics Systems Conference, 2007
3D or 4D trajectories are fundamental objects within the frame of ATM and can be defined as mappings from a bounded interval to the space R3. However, this functional aspect is almost never used in applications. A great improvement over existing procedures for statistical analysis of trajectories can be obtained by explicitly considering trajectory ...
