Spatial price competition and buyer power in the U.S. beef packing industry

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, Volume 108, Issue 3, Page 771-798, May 2026.
Abstract We develop a spatially‐explicit model of the U.S. beef packing industry to study key questions related to competition in an oligopsony setting. Cattle supplies are modeled at the county level, and packing plants' location, capacity, and ownership are taken as given. Packers procure negotiated cattle by competing in prices in each local (county)

Tau‐targeting active immunotherapy slows progression and reduces pathology in mouse models of tauopathy

open access: yesBrain Pathology, Volume 36, Issue 3, May 2026.
The efficacy of the novel anti‐tau active immunotherapy, p5555kb, was tested using two mouse models of tau pathology. p5555kb inoculation increased the survival rate and reduced tau pathology in tau‐overexpressing P301L mice and decreased tau seeding in the brains of C57BL/6 mice injected with human‐purified Alzheimer's disease tau.

Horizontalni sporazumi o suradnji prijevoznih poduzetnika u slobodnoj i linijskoj plovidbi u pravu tržišnog natjecanja Europske zajednice

open access: yesPoredbeno Pomorsko Pravo, 2008
U radu se razmatraju horizontalni sporazumi o suradnji prijevoznih poduzetnika u segmentu pomorskog prijevoza. Najznačajniji horizontalni sporazumi prijevoznih poduzetnika u linijskoj plovidbi zasigurno su linijske konferencije.

Column generation approaches to ship scheduling with flexible cargo sizes [PDF]

open access: yes
We present a Dantzig-Wolfe procedure for the ship scheduling problem with flexible cargo sizes. This problem is similar to the well-known pickup and delivery problem with time windows, but the cargo sizes are defined by an interval instead of a fixed ...

What Is the Best Use of Biomass? A Harmonized LCA‐TEA Framework Quantifying Economic and Environmental Metrics for Bioenergy Pathways

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy, Volume 18, Issue 5, May 2026.
A harmonized LCA and TEA framework evaluates 19 bioenergy pathways, quantifying carbon intensity (CI), minimum fuel selling price (MFSP), and marginal abatement cost (MAC). CCS reduces CI to net‐negative values and lowers MAC by up to 64%, with bioelectricity achieving the lowest MAC and liquid biofuels critical for hard‐to‐abate sectors.

PFAS from a Discrete‐Event Terrestrial Source Migrates with Groundwater to Intertidal Seepages

open access: yesGroundwater, Volume 64, Issue 3, Page 323-334, May/June 2026.
PFAS is conveyed to the coastal intertidal zone from sources across the terrestrial landscape. Discharge of PFAS into the coastal ecosystem is complicated in space and time by the ongoing bi‐directional exchange of terrestrial groundwater and ocean water driven by tidal pumping within discharge areas.
