Demographic performance review of a reintroduction project: Iberian lynx in Extremadura
Demographic performance reviews are essential for understanding the drivers of population growth and for evaluating the outcomes of reintroduction initiatives. IPMs as exemplified by our Iberian lynx case study provide a powerful and flexible framework for quantifying reintroduction performance and addressing key research and management questions.

First Evidence of Fallen Fruit Feeding by Bats Revealed by Camera Traps in a Tropical Dry Forest
Ground foraging among volant frugivores is an underappreciated aspect of behavioral flexibility. Here we report the first evidence of fruit bats feeding on fallen fruit, captured by camera traps in a Costa Rican tropical dry forest. These observations provide insight into the flexibility and mechanisms of coexistence among frugivores.

This study highlights the biodiversity value of the Murren Reserve, a small tropical dry forest patch in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Using camera traps and opportunistic observations, researchers documented 32 wildlife species, including federally endangered species like the ocelot (Leopardus pardalis) and puma (Puma concolor), as well as 73 plant species.

Using camera traps to enhance community‐based management of subsistence hunting in the Amazon
Abstract Community‐based management and monitoring of biodiversity has emerged as a cost‐effective strategy for providing credible data, informing decision‐making, and empowering local communities in resource governance and management. However, the establishment of community‐based management of subsistence hunting in the Brazilian Amazon has been ...

Vertebrate diversity and biomass along a recovery gradient in a lowland tropical forest
Deforestation of tropical forests has resulted in large areas of secondary forests with the potential for biodiversity to re‐establish to levels usually found in old‐growth forests. This study shows that diversity and biomass of mammals and birds in regenerating forests can recover to old‐growth levels within a relatively short time.

Understanding how diverse assemblages of scavengers can coexist on shared ecological resources is a fundamental challenge in community ecology. However, current approaches typically focus on behaviour at carcass provisioning sites, missing how important differences in movement behaviour and foraging strategies can facilitate sympatric species ...
