Sensing Dispersive and Dissipative Forces by an Optomechanical Cavity

open access: yes, 2016
We experimentally study an optomechanical cavity that is formed between a mechanical resonator, which serves as a movable mirror, and a stationary on-fiber dielectric mirror.

Macroscopic superpositions via nested interferometry: finite temperature and decoherence considerations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Recently there has been much interest in optomechanical devices for the production of macroscopic quantum states. Here we focus on a proposed scheme for achieving macroscopic superpositions via nested interferometry.

Influence of clamp-widening on the quality factor of nanomechanical silicon nitride resonators

open access: yes, 2019
Nanomechanical resonators based on strained silicon nitride (Si$_3$N$_4$) have received a large amount of attention in fields such as sensing and quantum optomechanics due to their exceptionally high quality factors ($Q$s).

Guiding the Formation of Surface‐Confined 2D Metal–Organic Coordination Networks by Variation of Constituent Landing Energy in Electrospray Deposition of an Iron(II) Grid Complex

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
Electrospray ion beam deposition (ES‐IBD) of an Fe(II) [2 × 2] grid complex onto Ag(111) reveals landing energy‐dependent fragmentation and self‐assembly. At higher landing energies, novel coordination networks emerge. This study highlights the unique potential of ES‐IBD in creating diverse metal–organic architectures on surfaces.
