Transabdominal Preperitoneal (TAPP) Repair
2018Successful completion of a transabdominal preperitoneal (TAPP) repair of hernias of the myopectineal orifice requires advanced laparoscopic skills. This chapter describes the anatomic, technical, and ergonomic considerations of performing a laparoscopic TAPP repair. Methods to both avoid and manage complications will also be addressed.

Transabdominal Preperitoneal Procedure
Surgical Innovation, 1994The technique of transperitoneal inguinal herniorrhaphy evolved its principles for success through the process of continuous quality improvement. Between December 21, 1989 and December 20, 1993, 278 patients had repair of 348 inguinal and/or femoral hernias using any of four transperitoneal methods. Group I had mesh repair of only the visualized defect;

Transabdominal Preperitoneal Herniorrhaphy.
Surgical Laparoscopy, Endoscopy & Percutaneous Techniques, 1994There have been multiple different approaches to laparoscopic herniorrhaphy with a tendency toward exposure of the preperitoneal space with placement of a prosthesis into this area. The transabdominal preperitoneal (TAPP) approach is a reasonably simple, safe repair, resulting in a less than 1% recurrence rate with minimal complications.

Transabdominal Preperitoneal Robotic Inguinal Hernia Repair
Journal of Laparoendoscopic & Advanced Surgical Techniques, 2008Inguinal hernias are commonly encountered at the time of radical retropubic prostatectomy. Concurrent inguinal hernia repair and prostatectomy is well described for the open and traditional laparoscopic approach. Robotic prostatectomy is the fastest growing treatment of prostate cancer.

Laparoscopic Transabdominal Preperitoneal Excision of a Leiomyoma
Videoscopy, 2018Abstract Introduction: Extrauterine leiomyomas in women without prior gynecologic or intestinal surgery are exceptionally rare.1,2 Most reports describe open surgical resection as treatment for these rare tumors.3 In selected cases, however, a minimally invasive approach may be feasible.
