Enabling High-Performance and Energy-Efficient Hybrid Transactional/Analytical Databases with Hardware/Software Cooperation [PDF]
A growth in data volume, combined with increasing demand for real-time analysis (using the most recent data), has resulted in the emergence of database systems that concurrently support transactions and data analytics. These hybrid transactional and analytical processing (HTAP) database systems can support real-time data analysis without the high costs

Loss of the frequently mutated chromatin remodeler ARID1A, a subunit of the SWI/SNF cBAF complex, results in less open chromatin, alternative splicing, and the failure to stop cells from progressing through the cell cycle after DNA damage in bladder (cancer) cells. Created in BioRender. Epigenetic regulators, such as the SWI/SNF complex, with important

Red blood cells could protect miRNAs from degradation or loss thanks to Argonaute 2 binding
The present work investigates the presence and the stability of miRNAs into RBCs, both native and engineered. The observed stability is due to the Ago2 bound resulting in minimal RISC. Indeed, if the miRNA‐Ago2 complex is present, miRNAs are protected from release or degradation and they are biologically active. Thus, RBCs can act as miRNA carriers for

Using Nesting to Push the Limits of Transactional Data Structure Libraries [PDF]
Transactional data structure libraries (TDSL) combine the ease-of-programming of transactions with the high performance and scalability of custom-tailored concurrent data structures. They can be very efficient thanks to their ability to exploit data structure semantics in order to reduce overhead, aborts, and wasted work compared to general-purpose ...

We obtained potential bacterial laccase‐like multicopper oxidase (LMCO) sequences through metagenomic sequencing. All sequences exhibited significant differences from known LMCOs in databases. To select the most promising candidates, we performed structure prediction and molecular docking using alphafold2, metal3d and rosetta.
