Lost in Aggregation: Quantifying Measurement Error from Geographic Centroids
Due to privacy laws and regulations, microdata typically provide regional identifiers rather than exact coordinates. Researchers therefore often construct spatial variables from these aggregations, but the statistical implications depend on the research setting.

The Impact of Financial Reporting Mandates on Labor Unions
ABSTRACT Labor unions in the United States are subject to financial reporting mandates. This study examines how these mandates affect unions and their members. Index Insurance and Food Security Among Smallholder Farmers in Southern Mali
ABSTRACT Climate extremes increasingly threaten food security in low‐ and middle‐income countries, where vulnerable smallholder farmers often lack access to risk mitigation tools. Although index‐based insurance has been promoted as a promising adaptation measure to climate shocks, evidence on its welfare effects, especially on food security, remains ...

Abstract We estimate the price impact of very nearby concurrently listed properties in the Sydney housing market and assess their competition effects. We apply a hedonic model with spatiotemporal effects regularized via a graph Laplacian prior at the month‐by‐SA2 regional level to seven SA4 subregions of metropolitan Sydney. The model structure enables

Graph‐Laplacian modeling of spatiotemporal effects for house price estimation
Abstract Many variables involve the modeling of spatial effects, and their dynamics over time. This article presents a linear model in which spatiotemporal random effects are modeled by graph‐Laplacians. A graph‐Laplacian flexibly encodes adjacency in both space and time, in our case not depending on unknown parameters. The graph‐Laplacian can be input
