Use of microspheres in embolization for unruptured renal angiomyolipomas

open access: yesOpen Medicine, 2021
To describe our initial experience with use of microspheres in transcatheter arterial embolization (TAE) for unruptured sporadic renal angiomyolipomas (AMLs).

Successful Interventional Management of Life-Threatening Bleeding after Oocyte Retrieval: A Case Report and Review of the Literature

open access: yesMedicina, 2022
Life-threatening bleeding after oocyte retrieval is unusual. We report a case of massive vaginal bleeding requiring transcatheter arterial embolization (TAE) after transvaginal US-directed follicle aspiration for oocyte retrieval and provide a brief ...

Description of unilateral kidney embolism and contralateral nephrectomy as a less invasive remnant kidney model in cats; a proof‐of‐concept study

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Unilateral, minimally invasive, renal arterial embolization and delayed contralateral nephrectomy was described in cats as a novel remnant kidney model of chronic kidney disease using two doses of embolic particles. Renal function declined and characteristic histopathological markers of kidney disease were present 6 months after the embolism procedure.

Successful transcatheter arterial embolization for pseudoaneurysm of the deep femoral artery in a patient with presumptive ACTA2-related vasculopathy

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports, 2021
ACTA2-related vasculopathy is an autosomal dominant genetic disorder characterized by aortic aneurysms and dissection, and limb artery lesions are rare. We report a case of transcatheter arterial embolization for a pseudoaneurysm of a deep femoral artery

Massive hemoptysis due to multiple bronchial artery aneurysms and multiple aneurysmal dilations: A case report

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports, 2018
Bronchial artery aneurysm (BAA) is a rare but potentially life-threatening clinical entity. Patients with multiple BAAs and multiple aneurysmal dilations are even rarer.

The Treatment of Post-Partum Bleeding with Transcatheter Arterial Embolization

open access: yesJournal of Endovascular Resuscitation and Trauma Management, 2020
Background: Our aim was to assess the safety and efficacy of transcatheter embolization in the treatment of post-partum bleedings. Methods: In a single institution, the outcome of 15 patients who underwent transarterial embolization (TAE) for post ...

Transcatheter coil embolization of coronary artery fistulas [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Cardiology Cases, 2010
SummaryCongenital coronary artery fistulas (CAFs), which have been known since 1865, are rare congenital cardiac abnormalities. Most of the CAFs are discovered incidentally during coronary angiography. We described our experience with successful transcatheter coil embolization of CAFs in an adult, leading to improvement of symptoms.

Closure of a Late‐Onset Iatrogenic Left Ventricular Pseudoaneurysm Caused by Erosion of an Apical Muscular VSD Device

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We report the case of a 3‐year‐old asymptomatic girl (12 kg, 96 cm) who was diagnosed with a large iatrogenic left ventricular pseudoaneurysm (LVP) on follow‐up ultrasound, 14 months after apical muscular ventricular septal defect (VSD) closure with a 10 mm Amplatzer Muscular VSD occluder (Abbott, USA) due to device erosion.

Combined transarterial chemoembolization and arterial administration of Bletilla striata in treatment of liver tumor in rats [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
AIM: To evaluate and compare the effect of combined transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) and arterial administration of Bletilla striata (a Chinese traditional medicine against liver tumor) versus TACE alone for the treatment of hepatocellular ...
