Therapeutic Effects of Noninvasive Electrical Stimulation in Combination Transplantation of Human Adipose‐Derived Stem Cells‐Derived Dopaminergic Neuron on the Monkey Model of Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 2, February 2026.
Our results showed that noninvasive electrical stimulation (NES) alone or in combination with human adipose‐derived stem cells (hADSCs)‐induced dopaminergic neuron (NES‐DN) improved the behavioral deficits and pathological features of the MPTP‐induced PD monkey model.

Short duration transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) modulates verbal memory

open access: yesBrain Stimulation, 2012
Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) is a noninvasive method of modulating cortical excitability. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of short-duration tDCS (1.6 seconds per trial) on memory performance, and whether the effects were affected by stimulation administered early or late in a trial.

Memory and Cognition-Related Neuroplasticity Enhancement by Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation in Rodents: A Systematic Review

open access: yesNeural Plasticity, 2020
Brain stimulation techniques, including transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), were identified as promising therapeutic tools to modulate synaptic plasticity abnormalities and minimize memory and learning deficits in many neuropsychiatric ...

Approach Motivation and Reward Sensitivity: Effects of High‐Definition Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (HD‐tDCS) to Brain Hemispheres on Effort‐Related Cardiovascular Response

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neuroscience, Volume 63, Issue 3, February 2026.
Brain stimulation over the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex affects effort‐related cardiovascular responses during a mental concentration task of unclear difficulty in presence of moderate incentives. Right cathodal stimulation leads to higher physiological effort compared to left cathodal and sham stimulation.

Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS).

open access: yesSupplements to Clinical neurophysiology, 2004
tDCS appears to be a promising tool in neuroplasticity research with some tentative perspectives in clinical neurophysiology. The next steps to be carried out encompass better histological safety data. In order to preclude the possibility of neuronal damage, extending tDCS duration should be limited until more direct safety criteria are available than ...

Multiple sessions of transcranial direct current stimulation to the intact hemisphere improves visual function after unilateral ablation of visual cortex [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Damage to cerebral systems is frequently followed by the emergence of compensatory mechanisms, which serve to reduce the effects of brain damage and allow recovery of function. Intrinsic recovery, however, is rarely complete.

Transcranial direct current stimulation of the frontal eye fields during pro- and antisaccade tasks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) has been successfully applied to cortical areas such as the motor cortex and visual cortex. In the present study, we examined whether tDCS can reach and selectively modulate the excitability of the frontal ...

Study protocol for identifying resting brain functional connectivity markers of response to continuous Theta Burst Stimulation and cathodal transcranial Direct Current Stimulation in patients with schizophrenia with persistent auditory hallucinations [version 2; peer review: 2 approved, 1 approved with reservations]

open access: yesWellcome Open Research
Background Schizophrenia is one of the most burdensome psychiatric disorders. Novel neuromodulatory techniques including cathodal transcranial direct current stimulation (c-tDCS) and continuous theta burst stimulation (cTBS) using repetitive transcranial
