Transcranial Doppler Series Part II: Performing a Transcranial Doppler
American Journal of Electroneurodiagnostic Technology, 2009Because of its portability, low cost, and quick, noninvasive nature, transcranial Doppler (TCD) has become a widely utilized exam to evaluate the basal cerebral arteries for various disease processes. The test is considered a "blind" and very difficult study by most vascular labs.

Transcranial Doppler ultrasonography (TCD) is the only diagnostic modality that provides a reliable evaluation of intracranial blood flow patterns in real-time. The physiological information obtained from TCD is complementary to the anatomical details obtained from other neuroimaging modalities.

Transcranial Doppler Sonography in Children
The blood flow velocities in the basal cerebral arteries can be recorded at any age by transcranial Doppler sonography. By a standardized examination technique, the vessel identification is reliable even without visual control of the site of the sample volume. A stable state of vigilance is necessary to obtain constant recordings.

Transcranial Doppler and anesthetics
Acta Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica, 2007Transcranial Doppler (TCD) is widely used to investigate the effects of anesthetic drugs on cerebral blood flow. Its repeatability and nonâinvasivity makes it an ideal, first choice method. Anesthesia providers are required to be conscious of the cerebral hemodynamic effects of drugs given in their practice, especially in neurosurgery and in subjects ...

Transcranial Doppler and Optic Nerve Sonography.
Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia, 2019Transcranial Doppler is a bedside procedure that measures linear cerebral blood flow velocity (CBFV) and the pulsatility index through the intracranial circulation.

Transcranial Doppler in Neurosurgery
1993This chapter describes the use of the transcranial Doppler apparatus in neurosurgery. The principles of Doppler insonation, the techniques of recording and the use of activation techniques is described. The relationship between blood flow and blood velocity is discussed, and the interaction of various pharmacological agents. The establishment of normal

Transcranial Doppler in children
Pediatric Radiology, 2011Transcranial Doppler US, a non-invasive tool for evaluating the cerebral arteries, has evolved significantly during the last two decades. This review describes the practical procedure, and summarises and illustrates its established and "work-in-progress" indications in children. Indications for a transcranial Doppler US examination include, but are not
