Electroacupuncture Prevents Against AD‐Like Phenotypes in APP/PS1 Mice: Investigation of the Mechanisms From Cerebral Microangiopathy

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 31, Issue 12, December 2025.
Electroacupuncture at combined acupoints GV20, CV4, and ST36 ameliorates AD‐like phenotypes, potentially through preventing microangiopathy and enhancing CBF. These findings provide novel insights for early intervention strategies to halt cognitive decline in AD.

Transcranial Doppler-detected cerebral embolic load during transcatheter aortic valve implantation† [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
OBJECTIVES Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is an alternative to surgery for high-risk patients with severe aortic valve stenosis. Periprocedural stroke is reported at an incidence up to 10%.

The diagnostic performance of transcranial Doppler ultrasound and carotid duplex in the diagnosis of cerebral small vessel disease

open access: yesThe Egyptian Journal of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine
Background and rationale Cerebral small vessel disease is a frequent, long-term, and progressing vascular disease accounting for twenty percent of whole strokes and twenty-five percent of ischemic strokes.

Risk Prediction of Cerebrovascular Ischemic Events Following Cervical Artery Dissections Using High‐Intensity Transient Signals: A Systematic Review, Meta‐Analysis and a Single Center Experience

open access: yesStroke: Vascular and Interventional Neurology
Background Predicting and managing spontaneous cervical artery dissections (CeAD) is challenging due to the absence of tools for early identification of high‐risk individuals.

The value of flow velocity alterations measured by carotid Doppler in the diagnosis of acute anterior ischemic stroke

open access: yesHong Kong Journal of Emergency Medicine, Volume 32, Issue 6, December 2025.
Abstract Background Acute ischemic stroke is a leading cause of mortality and long‐term disability. Conventional imaging methods like CT and MRI, while essential, are limited by cost, accessibility, and the need for patient transport. Carotid Doppler ultrasonography is a non‐invasive, low‐cost tool that can be performed bedside, yet its utility in ...

Monitoring the injured brain: ICP and CBF [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Raised intracranial pressure (ICP) and low cerebral blood flow (CBF) are associated with ischaemia and poor outcome after brain injury. Therefore, many management protocols target these parameters.

Assessing cerebral microvascular pulsatility using flow pulsatile‐resolved pseudo‐continuous arterial spin labeling MRI

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 94, Issue 6, Page 2435-2446, December 2025.
Abstract Purpose To develop a flow pulsatile‐resolved pseudo‐continuous arterial spin labeling (FPR‐pCASL) technique for noninvasively assessing cerebral microvascular pulsatility. Methods In FPR‐pCASL, a pCASL sequence with single‐shot three‐dimensional gradient and spin echo acquisition was performed while simultaneously recording cardiac pulse ...
