Abstract Central blood volume (CBV) reduction challenges circulatory and respiratory homeostasis, particularly during the initial compensatory phase (0–2 min), when rapid physiological adaptations occur. In this study, we examined dynamic cardiorespiratory responses to CBV reduction using lower‐body negative pressure (LBNP) in 11 healthy young males ...

Spontaneous Nonaneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage: Review of 75 Cases
The primary objective of this study was to describe the clinical, radiological, and transcranial Doppler (TCD) ultrasonography characteristics of patients with spontaneous, nonaneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SNSAH), and analyze their short- term ...

Cerebral haemodynamic responses to inspiratory muscle work
Abstract Fatiguing inspiratory work has been shown to evoke a sympathetically mediated reflex that has systemic cardiovascular consequences, including increases in heart rate and blood pressure and a decrease in resting limb vascular conductance. Moreover, the response to this reflex appears to be attenuated in females compared with males.

Diagnostic significance of transcranial Doppler ultrasonography in patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage and cerebral vasospasm [PDF]
Background This study investigated the accuracy and usefulness of transcranial Doppler (TCD) ultrasonography as a diagnostic method in patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) and cerebral vasospasm.

Abstract Dynamic resistance exercise (RE) produces sinusoidal fluctuations in blood pressure that are mirrored by middle cerebral artery blood velocity (MCAv). However, whether lower‐ or upper‐body RE elicits a differential cerebrovascular response has not yet been examined.

Evaluation of Cerebral Blood Flow Alterations and Acute Neuronal Damage due to Water-Pipe Smoking
Background:Although water-pipe smoking is a great public health problem, data regarding the acute and chronic effects and the degree of toxin exposure are limited.

Sex differences in cerebral blood flow and cardiac function in response to exercise in the heat
Abstract We investigated the effect of exercising in hot conditions on cerebral blood flow and systolic left ventricular (LV) function in males and females, to explore sex differences. The experimental condition consisted of walking on a treadmill at 5 km/h and 2% incline, inside a heat chamber at 40°C (50% relative humidity), for 90 min.

Abstract Recanalization by endovascular treatment (EVT) is effective in acute ischaemic stroke caused by large‐vessel occlusion. Better understanding of the pathophysiology could possibly identify targets for improving peri‐procedural management and thereby patient outcome.

The Clinical Study on Bell's Palsy Patients with TCD Measurement
Objective : This study was carried to make out the connection between cerebral artery blood flow velocity and ischemic theory that presumed the cause of Bell's palsy. Method : We measured cerebral artery blood flow velocity each external carotid artery,
