Transcranial electrical stimulation in patients with apallic syndrome
Acta Neurologica Scandinavica, 2009Muscle responses (MEPs) to transcranial electrical stimulation were studied in 7 patients with apallic syndrome. All the patients showed clinical signs of upper motor neurone impairment in the upper and lower limbs. MEPs were absent or markedly delayed in 4 of the 7 patients.

A Review of Computational Models of Transcranial Electrical Stimulation
Critical Reviews in Biomedical Engineering, 2013Transcranial electrical stimulation (tES), which includes transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), has played an important role in the treatment of various psychiatric disorders. Decades of empirical research and clinical experience have led to new and improved brain stimulation techniques, but the mechanisms ...

Transcranial Electrical and Magnetic Stimulation
2017Noninvasive magnetic and electrical stimulation of cerebral cortex is an evolving field. The most widely used variant, transcranial electrical stimulation (TES), is routinely used for intraoperative monitoring. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) are emerging as clinical and experimental tools. TMS
