Changes in nervous system with age are responsible for reduced muscle force‐generating capacity (i.e., MVC). This meta‐analysis reveals that older adults exhibited lower resting corticospinal excitability and ICF, coupled with prolonged CSP and lower MVC, compared to younger adults.

Harmony and rhythm perception are often studied separately, yet both reveal a shared sensitivity to low‐order integer ratios. In harmony, intervals like the octave (2:1) and fifth (3:2) predict consonance and ease of encoding. In rhythm, patterns with simple ratios (e.g., 2:1, 3:2) are easier to perceive, reproduce, and remember.

Correspondingly, trials where baseline EMG amplitude exceeds a specified threshold are often rejected. We aimed to investigate the influence of motor activity below such a threshold of MEP amplitude.
