The Italian Trend of Contact Allergy to 2‐Hydroxyethyl Methacrylate: Is the Current European Legislation Working?

open access: yesContact Dermatitis, Volume 93, Issue 3, Page 224-233, September 2025.
From 2019 to 2023, 7133 Italian consecutive patients underwent patch test with 2‐HEMA. 147 (2.1%) resulted positive (78.2% relevant), with an increasing trend over years and a decreasing female median age. Artificial nails were the leading source of exposure in both occupational (75.0%) and non‐occupational (72.2%) settings.

Trigeminal Nerve Asymmetry in Horses With Idiopathic Trigeminal‐Mediated Headshaking: A Retrospective Case‐Control Magnetic Resonance Imaging Study

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Volume 39, Issue 5, September/October 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Nerve atrophy results in trigeminal nerve (TN) asymmetry detectable by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in humans, but similar studies have not been performed in horses with idiopathic trigeminal‐mediated headshaking (ITMHS). Hypothesis Horses with ITMHS show greater MRI‐detected trigeminal‐nerve asymmetry than controls.

14. Discogenic Low Back Pain

open access: yesPain Practice, Volume 25, Issue 7, September 2025.
ABSTRACT Introduction Discogenic low back pain can be severely disabling, clinically challenging to diagnose, and expensive to treat. Disc degeneration is characterized by disc dehydration, which diminishes the ability of the disc to distribute pressure, making it more susceptible to damage, and leading to annular tears, fissures, and a higher ...

Decoding Pain: Next‐Generation In Vitro Systems for Mechanistic Insights and Drug Discovery

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 39, Issue 16, 31 August 2025.
Developing an in vitro pain model that mimics essential features of the in vivo pain circuit requires careful consideration of multiple components and choices. These include selecting the cellular population for the model, choosing from the origin of nociceptors and other cells that are cultured, deciding between 3D or 2D dimensions, designing the ...
