Performance Improvement of Raman Distributed Temperature System by Using Noise Suppression

open access: yesPhotonic Sensors, 2017
In Raman distributed temperature system, the key factor for performance improvement is noise suppression, which seriously affects the sensing distance and temperature accuracy. Therefore, we propose and experimentally demonstrate dynamic noise difference

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Incoherent Brillouin Optical Time-Domain Reflectometry With Random State Correlated Brillouin Spectrum

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2015
An incoherent Brillouin optical time-domain reflectometry with random state correlated Brillouin spectrum is proposed and experimentally demonstrated for the first time, which is based on a newly developed broadband random light source (chaotic laser ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

High-speed mechano-active multielectrode array for investigating rapid stretch effects on cardiac tissue

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
While strain is known to affect cardiac electrophysiology, experimental systems to interrogate the effect of rapid strain cycles on cardiac tissue are lacking.

The Equivalence Problem for Deterministic MSO Tree Transducers is Decidable

open access: yes, 2005
It is decidable for deterministic MSO definable graph-to-string or graph-to-tree transducers whether they are equivalent on a context-free set of ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Microscale photoacoustic imaging via laser-induced ultrasound in microfluidic environments

open access: yesJPhys Photonics
Photoacoustic (PA) imaging offers a powerful non-invasive approach for visualizing optically absorbing structures within biological tissues and microfluidic (MF) devices. While conventional PA imaging often relies on complex inverse problem solutions and

Parsing Unranked Tree Languages, Folded Once

open access: yesAlgorithms
A regular unranked tree folding consists of a regular unranked tree language and a folding operation that merges (i.e., folds) selected nodes of a tree to form a graph; the combination is a formal device for representing graph languages.
