Transesophageal Echocardiography in Endocarditis
Cardiology Clinics, 1993TEE plays a central role in the diagnosis and management of infective endocarditis. In experienced hands this technique is probably over 90% sensitive and specific for the detection of intracardiac lesions associated with endocarditis. TEE should be performed as soon as possible once endocarditis is suspected.

Intraoperative Transesophageal Echocardiography
Cardiology in Review, 2000Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) is an important tool in the intraoperative management of patients undergoing cardiac surgery as well as high-risk patients undergoing noncardiac procedures. This technique is widely used during valve surgery and particularly valuable during valve repair.

Transesophageal and transnasal, transesophageal ultrasound imaging system
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2003A semi-invasive ultrasound imaging system for imaging biological tissue includes a transesophageal probe or a transnasal, transesophageal probe connected to a two-dimensional ultrasound transducer array, a transmit beamformer, a receive beamformer, and an image generator. The two-dimensional transducer array is disposed on a distal portion of the probe'

Transthoracic stress echocardiography has recently gained increasing clinical acceptance as a valuable technique for the identification of myocardial ischemia. Several different forms of stress have been used in combination with echocardiography such as physical exercise [1–7], atrial pacing [8–10] and pharmacological interventions [11].

Transesophageal Echocardiography: Principal Views
2010Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) uses echographic facilities mounted on a blinded gastroscope. It opens a new window to the heart and large vessels. The implementation of two-phased-array transducers perpendicular to each other has led to imaging capabilities in both transverse and longitudinal planes.
