Evaluation of radiation heat transfer in porous medial: Application for a pebble bed modular reactor cooled by CO2 gas [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Technology and Radiation Protection, 2013
This work analyses the contribution of radiation heat transfer in the cooling of a pebble bed modular reactor. The mathematical model, developed for a porous medium, is based on a set of equations applied to an annular geometry.

On the Transfer of Information in Multiplier Equations

open access: yes, 2023
We derive spectral width estimates for traces of tempered solutions of a large class of multiplier equations in $\mathbf{R}^n$. The estimates are uniform for solutions up to a given order. In the process, we find a rather explicit expression for a tempered fundamental solution of a multiplier. We successfully verify our spectral width estimates against

Correction Factors for Determining the Mass Transfer Coefficients

open access: yesJournal of Mechanical Engineering, 2021
A number of industrial operations are linked to mass transfer. The mass transfer coefficient value is necessary to know when designing the industrial equipment in which mass transfer occurs.

Influence of chemical reaction on MHD Newtonian fluid flow on vertical plate in porous medium in conjunction with thermal radiation

open access: yesOpen Physics, 2022
Our key objective in the present work is to elaborate the concept of activation energy in chemically reactive flow with the help of modeling and computation. The model investigated is fluid flow over a vertical cylinder in the porous medium with chemical

Lie symmetry and exact homotopic solutions of a non-linear double-diffusion problem

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2023
The Lie symmetry method is applied, and exact homotopic solutions of a non-linear double-diffusion problem are obtained. Additionally, we derived Lie point symmetries and corresponding transformations for equations representing heat and mass transfer in ...

Numerical approximations for fluid flow and heat transfer in the boundary layer with radiation through multiple Lie similarity transformations

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2023
The dependent or independent variables of differential equations may be reduced by applying its associated Lie point symmetries. Seven-dimensional Lie point symmetry algebra exists for differential equations representing heat transfer in a boundary layer

A Reduced Basis Method for Radiative Transfer Equation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Scientific Computing, 2022
Linear kinetic transport equations play a critical role in optical tomography, radiative transfer and neutron transport. The fundamental difficulty hampering their efficient and accurate numerical resolution lies in the high dimensionality of the physical and velocity/angular variables and the fact that the problem is multiscale in nature.

Thermal Characteristics of a Stratospheric Airship with Natural Convection and External Forced Convection

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2019
Though convective heat transfer is one of the main factors that dominate the thermal characteristics of stratospheric airships, there is no specific correlation equations for the calculation of convective heat transfer of airships. The equations based on
