Effect of temperature on the accuracy of inductive current transformers
2018 IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC), 2018The paper deals with the evaluation of the accuracy variation of inductive current transformers vs. ambient temperature. There is a lack of information regarding if and how the accuracy of inductive current transformers changes with respect to temperature variations. To this purpose, in this paper a proper setup is presented and used for evaluating the

Investigating and Modeling the Harmonic Measurement Accuracy of Current Transformers
2022 IEEE 12th International Workshop on Applied Measurements for Power Systems (AMPS), 2022Overall measurement accuracy of current transformers is expressed by their accuracy class. When considering the fundamental component, it corresponds to ratio and phase error limits that are relaxed at small current values. As far as low-power current transformers, fixed ratio and phase error limits are prescribed at harmonic components.

Inductive current transformer accuracy of transformation for the PQ measurements
Electric Power Systems Research, 2017Abstract Inductive current transformer made of magnetic cores with high permeability are used for accurate wideband transformation of distorted current required by the power quality (PQ) measurements. However, such solutions are often characterized by not acceptable additional secondary current distortion in condition of variation of primary current ...

On-Line Evaluation of Voltage Transformer Accuracy
Advanced Materials Research, 2012The accuracy of voltage and current transformer (VT and CT) is a key factor in electric power metering. Ratio error and phase displacement calibration of VT and CT is traditionally carried out off-line. As a result of the expansion of the power grid and the increasing metering quality requirements from customer side, the off-line metering of VT and CT ...

Integer DFT with High Transform Accuracy
2005 5th International Conference on Information Communications & Signal Processing, 2006An integer DFT (IntDFT) algorithm with high transform accuracy is presented. The algorithm is derived by firstly constructing an auxiliary block matrix using the normalized DFT matrix, then factorizing the auxiliary matrix into three lifting matrices.

Desirable accuracies in instrument transformers
Electrical Engineering, 1931Errors in both the producer's total meter registrations and the consumer's single meter registration are analyzed and evaluated by the “probable error” method. Accuracies better than 0.5 per cent are shown to be valueless from a practical standpoint.

The transformer accuracy on-line evaluation system
2011 International Conference on Electrical and Control Engineering, 2011The accuracy of current transformer (CT) and voltage transformer (VT) is important guarantee of power system protection, monitoring and measurement. A new method based on live working technique for transformer accuracy evaluation is proposed in this paper.

A Proposal for Improving the Current Transformers Accuracy
IEEE Latin America Transactions, 2016The paper presents a proposal for improving the current transformers accuracy. The circuit model reported to the secondary, the fasorial diagram and the mathematical formulation lead us to identify that the problem happens because of the excitation current.

The effect of instrument transformer accuracy class on the WLS state estimator accuracy
2013 IEEE Power & Energy Society General Meeting, 2013The measurement chain of the power system consists of various components introducing their associated uncertainty to the measured quantity. Although, it is important to identify and quantify the individual uncertainties of the measurement chain components and consequently the combined measurement chain uncertainty, it is nearly impossible to do this ...
