The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Standard deviations of coordinates due transformation between ellipsoids [PDF]

open access: yesPodzemni Radovi, 2017
Transformation between ellipsoids also called datum transformation implies coordinate conversion from one ellipsoid to another ellipsoid, most frequently to be done by Helmert seven-parameter transformation.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Implicit Guidance Equations in Polar Coordinates [PDF]

open access: yesفصلنامه علوم و فناوری فضایی, 2015
In this paper, implicit guidance equations are derived in polar coordinates. Depending on applications, implicit guidance equations in polar coordinates may be preferred over cartesian coordinates.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Accurate Conversion of Earth-Fixed Earth-Centered Coordinates to Geodetic Coordinates

open access: yes, 2017
A closed form algorithm for the exact transformation of Earth-Centered Earth-Fixed (ECEF) coordinates to geodetic coordinates is presented that is computationally fast, safe and accurate. Boosting the computational robustness of Jijie Zhu's algorithm, it

A comparison of transformation models between geodetic reference frames: case study in Illizi region (Algeria)

open access: yesGeodesy and Cartography
The Illizi region is an important petroleum zone in Algeria, where various seismic surveys have been conducted. The merging of adjacent surveys is not possible due to incompatible data linked to the geodetic networks.

Deviationless geodetic transformations [PDF]

open access: yesActa Montanistica Slovaca, 1997
In a geodetic transformation of two networks (old, new), coordinate deviations come into being at the identical points and the transformated coordinates have to be corrected. A new deviationless method of Helmert and affine transformation is presented in

A weighted adjustment of a similarity transformation between two point sets containing errors

open access: yesJournal of Geodetic Science, 2017
For an adjustment of a similarity transformation, it is often appropriate to consider that both the source and the target coordinates of the transformation are affected by errors.
