Transformation Optics for Plasmonics [PDF]

open access: yesNano Letters, 2010
A new strategy to control the flow of surface plasmon polaritons at metallic surfaces is presented. It is based on the application of the concept of Transformation Optics to devise the optical parameters of the dielectric medium placed on top of the metal surface.

A bi-dimensional compressed Luneburg lens antenna for miniaturization based on transformation optics

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2022
Transformed Luneburg lens has been widely employed to provide aberration-free imaging and high-gain antenna system, but whose focal plane and beam scanning range decrease correspondingly. In this paper, a two-dimensional compressed elliptical cylindrical

Elliptical generalized Maxwell fish-eye lens using conformal mapping

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2019
A circular graded index lens is conformally transformed to an elliptical shape using a closed-form transformation. The proposed transformation is then employed to compress a Maxwell fish-eye and its generalized version.

Optical source transformations

open access: yesOptics Express, 2008
Transformation optics is a recently appreciated methodology for the design of complex media that control the propagation of electromagnetic and other types of waves. The transformation optical technique involves the use of coordinate transformations applied to some region of space, providing a conceptual means to redirect the flow of waves ...

Transformation plasmonics

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2012
Surface plasmons polaritons (SPPs) at metal/dielectric interfaces have raised lots of expectations in the on-going quest towards scaling down optical devices.

Designing Plasmonic Gratings with Transformation Optics

open access: yesPhysical Review X, 2015
Plasmonic gratings that support both localized and propagating plasmons have wide applications in solar cells and optical biosensing. In this paper, we report on a most unusual grating designed to capture light efficiently into surface plasmons and ...

Beam steering performance of compressed Luneburg lens based on transformation optics

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2018
In this paper, two types of compressed Luneburg lenses based on transformation optics are investigated and simulated using two different sources, namely, waveguides and dipoles, which represent plane and spherical wave sources, respectively.

Polygonal Maxwell’s fisheye lens via transformation optics as multimode waveguide crossing [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Optics, 2019
Multimode waveguide crossings are crucial components for novel mode-division-multiplexing systems. One of the challenges of multimode waveguide routing in MDM systems is decreasing the inter-mode crosstalk and mode leakage of waveguide crossings. In this
