Skew Pairs of Idempotents in Partial Transformation Semigroups

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
Let S be a regular semigroup. A pair (e,f) of idempotents of S is said to be a skew pair of idempotents if fe is idempotent, but ef is not. T. S. Blyth and M. H. Almeida (T. S. Blyth and M. H.

Transformation semigroups associated to Γ-semigroups

open access: yesDiscussiones Mathematicae - General Algebra and Applications, 2013
The concept of Γ-semigroups is a generalization of semigroups. In this paper, we associate two transformation semigroups to a Γ-semigroup and we call them the left and right transformation semigroups. We prove some relationships between the ideals of a Γ-semigroup and the ideals of its left and right transformation semigroups.

Transformation Representations of Sandwich Semigroups [PDF]

open access: yesExperimental Mathematics, 2018
Let $a$ be an element of a semigroup $S$. The local subsemigroup of $S$ with respect to $a$ is the subsemigroup $aSa$ of $S$. The variant of $S$ with respect to $a$ is the semigroup with underlying set $S$ and operation $\star_a$ defined by $x\star_ay=xay$ for $x,y\in S$.

Thickness in topological transformation semigroups

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1993
This article deals with thickness in topological transformation semigroups (τ-semigroups). Thickness is used to establish conditions guaranteeing an invariant mean on a function space defined on a τ-semigroup if there exists an invariant mean on its ...

Computing Transformation Semigroups

open access: yesJournal of Symbolic Computation, 2002
The paper describes data structures and algorithms for performing computations in a finite semigroup \(S\) with identity, generated by a set of transformations. A basic idea behind the algorithms is the partition of \(S\) with the aid of an equivalence relation \(\mathcal R\), one of Green's relations.

UNIVERSAL COMPACTIFICATIONS OF TRANSFORMATION SEMIGROUPS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sciences, Islamic Republic of Iran, 2000
We extend the notion of semigroup compactification to the class of transformation semigroups, and determine the compactifications which are universal with respect to some topological properties.

a-minimal sets and related topics in transformation semigroups (I) [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2001
We deal with a-minimal sets instead of minimal right ideals of the enveloping semigroup and obtain a partition of disjoint isomorphic subgroups of some of its subsets.

On left restriction semigroups with zero

open access: yesKuwait Journal of Science, 2023
In this article, we give the notion of left restriction meet-semigroup, and establish some results regarding atomistic left restriction semigroups. Then we discuss decompositions of (non-zero) semigroups with zero by proving a decomposition theorem.
