Additional Effects from Transforming Open Bridge Cross Section to Semi-Closed

IABSE Reports, 2020
<p>Strengthening steel-concrete composite girder bridges with open cross section by implementation of additional horizontal bottom bracing is one elegant solution, which has proven to be effective in reducing the normal stresses in the steel beams by sharing effectively the applied eccentric traffic loads. The paper reviews the additional effects

Relationship between nursing mentorship and transformational leadership of mentor: A cross‐sectional study

Journal of Nursing Management, 2021
The purpose of this research was to explore nurses' mentorship, mentors' basic psychological needs satisfaction and transformational leadership. Moreover, this study evaluated the moderating role of a protégé's mindfulness.Previous research had only focused on the benefits that protégés reaped from the mentoring relationship, neglected the mentor's ...

Scattering kinematics: Transformation of differential cross sections between two moving frames

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1978
A general method is presented for transforming scattering cross sections between two moving frames. The Jacobian of the transformation is developed for nonrelativistic as well as relativistic particle energies in the case of either elastic or inelastic scattering. Instances of incorrectly used transformations in the literature are discussed.

Cross-sectional geometry dependence of spontaneous phase transformation of copper nanowires

Current Applied Physics, 2015
Abstract Molecular dynamics simulations have been performed to investigate the spontaneous phase transformation of copper nanowires. It is found that the spontaneous phase transformation exhibits distinct dependence on the cross-sectional geometry of the nanowires and can lead to the reconstruction of atoms into different atomistic configurations, e ...

Radar cross section enhancement using semicylindrical retroreflector based on transformation electromagnetics

2017 IEEE MTT-S International Conference on Microwaves for Intelligent Mobility (ICMIM), 2017
The concept of retroreflectors based on the coordinate transformation is presented to enhance radar cross section for radar systems. A retroreflector mimicking a conventional retroreflector of a cylindrical dielectric embedded in a concave metal is designed with an full-tensor anisotropic materials based on the transformation electromagnetics. In order

Optical cross section for the EL2→EL2* metastable transformation

Physical review. B, Condensed matter, 1995
A simple and accurate method for the determination of the σ * optical cross section governing the EL2->EL2* transformation kinetics in GaAs is proposed. Previously reported σ * values are critically examined and corrected properly. The obtained absolute values of σ * in the 0.9– 1.35eV photon energy range all falling onto the same universal curve are ...

Cross section transformation with Jacobian and with a Monte Carlo method

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 1999
Abstract We have performed a cross sectional transformation with Jacobians and with a Monte Carlo method for the collinear detection data of α − t coincidences from the breakup reaction of 7 Li. It is shown that the same rest frame cross sections result from the two different types of transformation within statistical uncertainties.

On cross section transformations in reactions with three outgoing fragments

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research, 1982
Some cross section transformation problems are treated which occur in coincidence measurements on nuclear reactions with three fragments in the exit channel. Expressions are given for the transformation from the coordinates of two fragments to the coordinates of their relative and centre-of-mass motion. The influence of constraints, for instance on the

Mode Transformers on Longitudinal Diaphragms in Waveguides of Complex Cross Section

2007 International Kharkiv Symposium Physics and Engrg. of Millimeter and Sub-Millimeter Waves (MSMW), 2007
In this work the technique of longitudinal diaphragms is applied to MWT design based on four-ridge rectangular waveguides. The physical basis of mode transformation is discussed, the process of transformation of one propagating mode of the waveguide to another on different steps of the device is illustrated.

Cross-sectional MRI Data Analysis Based on Shearlet Transformation

2014
In this thesis, I will explore the various efficient shearlet representations of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) data and how they can be further used in classical statistical analysis to shed a light on the early diagnosis of the Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The cause of AD is not completely understood yet.
