Cross-sectional MRI Data Analysis Based on Shearlet Transformation

2014
In this thesis, I will explore the various efficient shearlet representations of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) data and how they can be further used in classical statistical analysis to shed a light on the early diagnosis of the Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The cause of AD is not completely understood yet.

Interactions between basal dislocations and β1′ precipitates in Mg–4Zn alloy: Mechanisms and strengthening

, 2020
The mechanisms of dislocation/precipitate interaction as well as the critical resolved shear stress were determined as a function of temperature in an Mg–4 wt% Zn alloy by means of micropillar compression tests.

Transforming outcome expectations into retention among hospital nurses: A cross‐sectional study

Journal of Advanced Nursing
AbstractAimTo examine the main effects and interaction effects of outcome expectations (e.g., anticipated satisfactory salary and benefits), nurse identity (a sense of membership in the nursing profession), and information‐access efficiency of the electronic medical record system (how the system enables nurses to quickly retrieve the needed information)

Interpretation of a dynamic radar cross-section using the wavelet transform

International Journal of Electronics, 1995
The wavelet analysis technique is applied to obtain instantaneous time-frequency information from dynamic radar cross-section data, since the dynamic electromagnetic backscattered signals contain both time and frequency information. The multiresolution property of the wavelet transform (WT) is well suited to analysing such time-varying signals ...

Fourier Transform Infrared Microscopic Imaging of an Embedded Paint Cross-Section

Applied Spectroscopy, 2002
Fourier transform infrared imaging is presented as a new analytical approach in the study of paint cross-sections. Analytical FT-IR reflection imaging provides the spatially resolved acquisition of infrared spectra with a resolution of about 7 μm. The technique reveals detailed information on the organic functional group distribution in the individual

Carrera unified formulation (CUF) for the micropolar beams: Analytical solutions

Mechanics of Advanced Materials and Structures, 2019
New higher order models of micropolar beams, which is based on Carrera unified formulation have been developed here. The higher order theory is based on a variational principle of virtual power and the expansion of the 3D equations of the micropolar ...

Geometrical transformation of bodies of arbitrary cross-section for numerical computation

Digest on Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2003
A mode discretization approach is used to study objects of arbitrary cross section but having certain planes of symmetry. To investigate such a geometry the cross section of the object is conformally transformed into a new space which eliminates the existing discontinuities of the object's cross section.

Using the Wavelet Transformation to Analyze Cross-Sectional MRI Data

2014
Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) is a serious disease which is frequently in the news nowadays. Almost 1/3 of elderly people have this disease. Some biological factors are found to be associated with it, such as gender, age and education level. The governments all over the world have paid a large amount of money to solve this problem, but the result is not ...

Generalized reorientation cross sections. II. Scattering frame transformations and propensity rules

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1984
The generalized molecular reorientation cross sections derived in the first paper of this series are reformulated using an unsophisticated version of the internal angular momentum coupling scheme introduced by the Wisconsin school. In particular, we consider the transformation from quantization axes that diagonalize the wave amplitude in the magnetic ...
