The analysis of the current shape in the circuit analogous to the a.c. welding circuit [PDF]

open access: yes, 1967
The suitability for welding of manual metal arc welding transformers depends on the no-load voltage and on the electro-magnetic behaviour of the reactor. The latter is related to the curvature of the actual magnetization characteristic.

Nitride‐Reinforced Metal Matrix Nanocomposite Powders Production by Plasma‐Assisted Thermochemical Treatment of Intermetallic Powders

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study proposes a new methodology for producing metal matrix nanocomposites in the solid state. The process involves the plasma‐assisted thermochemical treatment of metallic alloy powders. As a proof‐of‐concept, TiN nanoparticles are synthesized directly on the surface of FeTi intermetallic powder particles, enabling the development of the ...

A 7.5 mW –43 dB LO leakage source‐driven wideband CMOS millimeter‐wave mixer

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2021
This paper presents a millimeter‐wave (mm‐wave) V‐band mixer. The source‐driven transformer‐coupled up‐converter topology can alleviate the local oscillator (LO) leakage problem.

Bimetallic (NiFe) and Trimetallic (NiFeCr) Nanoalloys from Metal Oxides Using a Microwave Hydrogen Plasma

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Bimetallic (NiFe) and trimetallic (NiFeCr) nanoalloys (NAs) are synthesized using corresponding oxide mixtures using microwave hydrogen plasma within a few milliseconds. The process simultaneously 1) reduces metal oxides to metals; 2) downsizes the particles from micrometers to nanometers; and 3) blends the metals to form NAs.

HVDC grids stability improvement by direct current power system stabilizer

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2022
High‐voltage direct current breaker is among the essential components of high‐voltage direct current grids. Such a breaker generally needs a direct current reactor to reduce the fault currents rate.

Cu‐Based MOF/TiO2 Composite Nanomaterials for Photocatalytic Hydrogen Generation and the Role of Copper

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
HKUST‐1/TiO2 composite materials show a very high photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate which increases as a function of the irradiation time until reaching a plateau and even surpasses the performance of the 1%Pt/TiO2 material after three photocatalytic cycles.

Atomic Size Misfit for Electrocatalytic Small Molecule Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores the application and mechanisms of atomic size misfit in catalysis for small molecule activation, focusing on how structural defects and electronic properties can effectively lower the energy barriers of chemical bonds in molecules like H2O, CO2, and N2.
